ACT Stall Coordinator (volunteer)

Position Details:

Stall Coordinator

With the support of the State Rep and Merch Coordinator:

-      arrange a minimum of 2 stalls per month (Westfields, Hall Markets etc);

-     contact state rep to arrange volunteers to help on stall;

-     contact merch coordinator to prepare merch for stall and arrange collection of merch; and

-    set up, run and pack up stall (this can be shared with state rep and other volunteers).

Volunteer Merchandise Coordinators required for VIC and WA

Position Details:
A Volunteer Merchandise Coordinator is required to support each of the State reps in VIC and WA 
(1 position in each state)

Tasks and responsibilities:

- Identify stock requirements for events planned for the year
- Hold and supply stock for events
- Monthly stock take
- Follow merchandise procedures
- Liaise with event volunteer/coordinator of individual events and prepare stock for pick up.
- Transport stock to and from events or coordinate stock movement as required.   

Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the State Representative and at the team meetings.

Working Relationships:
This position would require a close working relationship with the State Representative and the Events coordinator in creating a smooth running merchandise operation.

Skills, Traits and Aptitudes:

 Good communication skills
 Attention to detail
 Retail skills desirable
 The ability to work independently and as part of a team
 Email and computer skills/excel spread sheet knowledge
 A commitment to orangutan conservation
 Must have space and a secure place for storing merchandise stock

It is anticipated that this role will require a minimum commitment of
2 hours per week. This fluctuates according to the type of event.

Regional Representative required for NT and WA

This is a Volunteer position

Your commitment: Approx 5-10 hours per week
Period: 3 months probationary, then extend as mutually agreed
Reporting to: Event manager
Position Details:

The Orangutan Project is a voluntary organisation that supports Orangutan conservation organisations in raising funds and awareness for Orangutan conservation. Orangutans are in a crisis situation with extinction in the wild predicted within 10 years by many experts.

We invite applications for the position of an NT and WA Regional Representatives. An enthusiastic, self motivated person is sought to organise and manage fundraising and awareness-raising events. (Two positions)

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Building a team to share responsibilities and tasks and coordinate fund raising activities.  Activities could include: shopping centre displays; fetes; expos; chocolate fundraising; film nights; trivia nights. Membership and Adoption programs within the State. Goals are set each year for these categories and the State Representative is expected to work towards these goals.
  • Communication with volunteer members to promote and coordinate their activities and events and be responsible for all state matters.
  • Be available to answer emails normally within 48 hours.
  • Storage of all merchandise and equipment and transport to and from events if required
  • Write articles for the eNewsletter
  • Attend Regional Representative teleconference meetings (1 every 6 weeks), using Google conferencing
  • Liaise with Merchandise Coordinator for merchandise stock supplies/storage of stock 
  • Liaise with Adoption Coordinator for Adoption Kit supplies
  • Liaise with Bookkeeper and Administrator re banking and orders
  • Train a backup State Coordinator to cover during State Coordinator holidays and to become an acting replacement if required.

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Basic understanding of software/program

The initial appointment is for a three month probationary period to ensure both the TOP and the Appointee are happy with the appointment.
